A ten-day event where you can experience exciting food competitions, tastings, cooking shows and live concerts by Italian and international performers.
Palermo is the European capital of Street Food, fifth in the world according to a Forbes ranking . And it’s not by chance that the city hosts the International Street Food Festival.
For this event, the historical centre of the Sicilian city transforms into an open-air culinary village, and a cooking competition between the best chefs from all over the world, competing in front of an audience to make the best dishes from their home countries.
The food and the street are able to unite people beyond the social barriers of who we are and where we come from.
That is the spirit of this event which is currently on its third edition with this year’s Xmas Edition.
The previous edition had success that went far beyond the expectations.
600,000 people tasted the best street food offerings from all over the world.
The public expressed their preferences together with a technical panel of judges formed by 15 members that included journalists, food bloggers, chefs and food and beverage experts.
The winning chef was Pantila Rattanang of the Siam Thai club Association.
On the podium with her there were Pizza Fritta by Alfonso Maffeo and the Tunnu Tunnu panini prepared by Assud cibo da strada, a great entrepreneurial endeavor founded by a group of young people from Milan.
